Grumpy, Sam & Sammy 1 (a Samantha Jones Mystery) - Where the Girls are Buried
A.J. NewmanA twist of fate pushes the young girl and her dog into the life of a recently retired factory worker, Grumpy. He has worked for over thirty years at a factory and is a staunch conservative. He has no idea what to do in retirement and then this confused young lady confronts all of his beliefs and faith. She is fifteen, homeless, confused and combative. She knows everything and won’t listen to authority. On top of all of that she is being stalked by her Mom's boyfriend. Her dog is a tiny Shih Tzu with the heart of a saint and the courage of a lion. The three become involved in an unsolved case involving missing girls and solve the crimes.
This is a coming of age story for the girl and a religious awakening for the old man. While they are worlds apart in most of their beliefs they find common ground and interests that bind them together.
